Minaj’s ill-mannered mocking.
I’m a Christian. I have been since I was four. I was Baptized by my father and Pastor in Lake Allatoona. I love the Lord. He’s the reason I am, where I am, today. Taking all this into account.. It isn’t the reason I am incredibly offended by Nicki Minaj’s performance at the Grammy’s.
Yes, I am terribly offended that a Christian Hymn was used in her performance, mocking the Catholic church. A hymn that is sang in my Non-Denominational Christian Church. I am very offended that my Lord and Savior was dishonored, but I would find it incredibly offensive if she had mocked ANY religion.
I believe in a relationship, not a religion. I believe that my relationship with God is one on one, and does not go through any other, such as a Priest, but that does not negate that doing such an act is a part of Catholic’s religion. A part of their life. It’s something they stand by, and to have that mocked is wrong.
Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Unitarianism, Mormonism.. They are all someone’s beliefs. No, I don’t agree with these other religions or sets of beliefs or think they’re right, but someone does. I am the type of Christian that does not enjoy pushing my beliefs on someone. I will defend my beliefs until the day I die, and I expect the same respect from others that they would like for themselves, but I do not believe that anyone should mock a religion.
Nicki Minaj has lost any and all respect I ever had for her. Her actions are shameful and dishonorable.
